AI Cannot Replace Legal Reasoning: Orissa High Court Chief Justice at SOA Special Convocation

Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court, Justice Harish Tandon, said AI and technology can improve court efficiency but cannot replace human compassion, independent legal reasoning, or judicial discretion. Speaking at SOA University's Special Convocation, he stressed that justice must be guided by fairness, constitutional morality, and accountability. He reminded law students that advocates have a duty to uphold the law with ethics and integrity. More than 300 Ph.D. degrees were awarded, and Justice Krishna Shripad Dixit received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree.
